Set in a serene waterside environment away from the hustle of city pressures, the centre is located on Amwaj Islands, an island development designed for urban living and education in business friendly Bahrain.

This "Island Campus" environment combines our learning experience with ideal relaxation time where our students and guests can stay in waterside accommodation, and relax on the beaches or stroll or jog along safe and quiet roads around the islands, or simply sit in the cafeterias sprouting around the island.

In spite of the serene and calm environment, GII centre is only 20 minutes taxi ride away from the busy city of Manama with its charming old character blended with new and modern living and business.

It also boasts easy, ten minutes, access from the Bahrain International airport that is serviced by many international and budget regional airlines

Facilities

The spacious modern centre hosts three large lecture rooms and an I.T lab, all equipped with latest learning equipment including smart boards and comfortable seating and climate control.

Two lecture rooms combine to provide a conference hall seating up to sixty delegates outfitted with audio visual and web conferencing facilities. On-site guest facilities include library, lounge, wireless internet, lounge, a 24 hour minimarket, first aid, and car parking. Daily buffet lunch is served in the dining room for all students attending day time courses.

Amwaj islands

alt

Amwaj Islands (Arabic: جزر أمواج‎; transliterated: Juzur Amwaj) are a group of man-made islands located in the northeast of Bahrain, near the coast of Muharraq island. It covers roughly 2 790 000 m² (30 million square feet).

Amwaj Islands are a pioneering project in Bahrain, the first to offer 100% freehold land ownership to expatriates living in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It also increases the supply of waterfront property which is in low supply in this small island nation. With the completion of infrastructure such as electricity, roads, water, sewerage and telecoms, Amwaj recently became fit for residential use.

From an engineering perspective Amwaj introduced a number of new technologies to the region including geotubes for the reclamation phase of these islands, vacuum sewerage and fibre optic "Smart City" technology among others.

The Amwaj Islands were reclaimed from the relatively shallow seas to the northeast of Muharraq Island, which is the northernmost island in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Islands contain residential, commercial (highrise) and hotel and retail buildings, as well as a 240 m diameter circular marina with over 140 berths.

The project is connected to the main island by a causeway, approximately 1.8 km in length. Other facilities include a school, a university, a hospital, a fuel station, theme parks and a lagoonside dining and café precinct
