Mission The GII is a leading centre of excellence which, in cooperation with international qualifying bodies, provides learning, sustains development and rewards achievement for professionals engaged in conventional and Islamic Insurance practice and Risk Management in the Gulf region and beyond.
History The GII was set up by industry to serve the growing needs for human capital development in the fast moving insurance, risk management and financial services sector in the region. GII was officially incorporated in June 2007 and licensed as a Management and Business Training Institute by the Ministry of Labour, Directorate of Training Institutes Affairs, Bahrain. GII moved into its centre headquarters in Amwaj Islands, Bahrain, in February 2008.

Governance Strong governance and the highest levels of quality assurance are observed at GII. This is assured by GII’s Executive Committee, Quality and Standards Council and Disciplinary Council. Members of these Councils are recognized leading academics and executives from industry, ensuring qualify standards and promoting the GII Code of Professional Conduct.
